LAME: Linux Administration Made Easy
Linux Administration Made Easy (LAME)

Welcome to the download page of the Linux Administration Made Easy (LAME) guide, a Linux documentation project written by Steve Frampton, and offered to the Linux community as a free public service.

LAME attempts to summarize the installation and configuration, as well as the day-to-day administrative and maintenance procedures that should be followed to keep a Linux-based server or desktop system up and running. It is geared to an audience of both corporate as well as home users.

Translators! I would be thrilled if the LAME guide were available in other languages. If you would be interested in donating some time and effort in making a translated guide available, have some experience with mark-up languages such as HTML or SGML, why not download the SGML source file and get started? I would be happy to make the results of your translated efforts available for download on this site.

The LAME guide is in DocBook format, which can be converted into a variety of output formats using the very excellent SGMLtools package. If you are unable to run SGMLtools on your system, please use the SGML source file as a template for your translation efforts anyway, and I will be happy to convert your translation to the popular output formats for you.
